Disney’s “Oz, the Great and Powerful”

Set for release in March 2013 Disneys “Oz the great and powerful”, a prequel to the beloved  1939 MGM classic promises to be a fun movie for young and old.

Directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-man trilogy) this prequel gives more than a nod or two to the venerated film classic “The Wizard of Oz” written by L. Frank Baum and hopefully gives this movie a decent feeling of continuity and congress with its 74 yr old predecessor.

A couple of big names were tossed around to play the title role but after Robert Downey jr declined and since Johnny Depp’s link to the project seemed to have evaporated, the role finally went to Oscar nominated James Franco. I hope he can pull off the Professor Marvel character and do the Wizard some justice!

We’re interested in what your thoughts and opinions are on the trailer, watch and comment!
